What Makes a Lesson GREAT? – slideshow

I’ve just finished my first Webinar on what makes a lesson GREAT and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was strange talking into thin air for almost an hour but it was lovely to see so many people there and participating through comments: thank you all for coming.  I know how busy teachers’ days are, so I truly appreciate it.

As it was my first time, I totally messed up the upload of my presentation slides, and had to work with an incomplete set – serves me right for not checking in advance!  However, here they are, in all their intended glory.  You can either play it as a slideshow (each slide is set for 10 seconds so you can read the text-heavy ones) or you can click through.

Thank you for being patient with me.

PS: Note that the URL given on the first slide is now out of date – but if you are reading this, you know that already!

  • Hi Anthony, your webinar was just GREAT. Don’t worry about the slides, we could easily imagine what they were showing. I was just thinking that perhaps if you had your slides printed out, you could use the webcam to show them to the audience. Well, my advice is bit too late, but better late than never – just in case 🙂

    • Thanks Nida – I’m glad you found it useful. The irony is, I DID have my slide printed out, so I’ll remember that tip in future if they ever have me back 😉

  • By the way, to anyone viewing these slides: if anything doesn’t make sense, try reading them in connection with the related blog post (they are all clearly numbered so you should be able to find them easily).

  • Hi Antony,
I read through your interesting and detailed slides. I’d like to ask you if you have been recorded so I can see you. You know, being visual and auditory!
    Thanks
    Debbie

    • Hi Debbie,
Thanks for taking the time to visit. Yes, the session was recorded; as I understand it, the recording will be available via the same link as the live talk, http://t.co/X8bNRpex

If the recording isn’t available yet, it should be soon. I’ll post an update when I know more.

      • All Teaching English webinars are recorded and can be linked to from http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/webinars
At time of writing, it still hasn’t been uploaded even though the link is there already. It normally takes a day or two 🙂
Too bad I missed most of it, Anthony but I’ve read all the posts so I have an idea anyway. Talking in webinars is strange, isn’t it? Takes a bit of getting used to; it’s like talking to a well, which is why getting the audience to participate is primordial just so you know you haven’t gone loopy! 😉

        • Very true Chiew, and thanks for publicising the recording going online. I found it hard to look directly in the camera while keeping an eye on my webcam, notes and live ticker – guess I have a lot to learn!

    • Dear Debbie,
Apologies for the delay in replying: the recording of the webinar is now online and there is a link to it on my blog! Thanks for the interest!

      Anthony
